About Woody Walks

Woody-Walks is owned and managed by Hugh Scotchbrook with support from Tom, Laura, Alysia, and additional back up from Fiona and Sue. Across the team we have many years of experience working with all manner of ages from puppies, adolescents and rescue dogs  UK and overseas, senior dogs and other companion animals including horses and farm animals.

Hugh has also worked with Surrey Police Dog Training Unit (Mount Browne) working with full contact and search and track dogs as well as a stint at Merrist Wood Dog Groomers and assisting Naturally Animals Equine Diagnostician Catherine Edwards.

Hugh is pursuing a career in canine behaviour and is currently under taking a Graduate Diploma in Animal Behavioural Management. He already has a Foundation Science Degree in Animal Behaviour & Welfare, an Advanced Diploma in Canine Behavioural Management and a whole host of other qualifications and accreditations.

Hugh is a student member of The Canine Behaviour & Training Society.

He has also previously volunteered at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in the capacity of a dog socialiser and kennel support which provided him with excellent training and first-hand experience dealing with many different breeds of rescue dog.

Tom has been working with Woody-walks on and off for 3 years and is a trusted pair of hands when it comes to dogs of all sizes, especially big dogs. Tom is Pet First Aid Trained and owns an impressive Husky X German Shepherd named Max. Tom also helps support his Mum, Christine who runs her own dog grooming parlour - Just-Groomed and many of our clients use her and are very happy with the results.


Alysia joined the team in January 2017 a self-confessed animal lover and experienced dog handler. After having her first child nearly three years ago she is back. Alysia has a huge love for animals not just canine but all kinds and works part time at the East Meon Donkey Sactuary.


Laura is our latest team member having worked in care for the majority of her working life. Laura has completed the 1st, National and Higher National Diploma in animal care at Merrist Wood College and is currently studying Level 4 PETbe Accredited Advanced Canine Behaviour Diploma with BCCS. Laura owns three Chinese Crested dogs which are her life and now is excited be finally working with dogs of all breeds and sizes.
